Edhi’s Ambulance Service

By: livebits

Who founded the world’s largest volunteer ambulance service?

The world’s largest volunteer ambulance service is under the Abdul Sattar Edhi Foundation. It was founded by Abdul Sattar Edhi and it wasn’t just any ambulance service, it spread far and wide and became of use to people across many countries, including but not limited to Japan, USA and China. Because of this worldwide situation, Abdul Sattar Edhi became even more popular and the funds did start rolling in. This made the foundation all the more, better and improved after a while.

So much, so that Edhi was capable of expanding his ambulance service to the seas and to air as well.

Air Ambulance Service

The air-based service consists of 2 aircraft and 1 helicopter. There is also an airlift included helping people during times of natural disaster or injury. He made sure that he could do everything possible to save lives. You can make an Edhi donation online to make sure these services are kept running.

Marine Ambulance Service

The marine-based service consisted of about 28 boats and skilled people to help the injured and others who were in trouble. There’s even a mobile mortuary where you can store coffins and such for people who have died and did not have resources to be buried. This system also works in the Edhi Foundation in USA.

Conclusion

The world needs and deserves a man like Edhi and the Foundation that he created which spread far and wide to help as many people as it could in a transatlantic fashion. No other NGO has been able to make such a feat possible other than the Edhi Foundation, especially considering how difficult it is for people to care about others in this fast-paced day and age.
